Rare Disease Day 2018
Share your handprints to highlight Rare Disease Day!
You can help show the impact of rare diseases across the U.S. by submitting your photo and story to the Handprints Across America® Gallery. Now in its seventh year, Handprints Across America shows people observing Rare Disease Day all across the nation in a variety of settings.
They are asking patients and families to print out the Handprints Across America flyer and submit a photo of yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, or others, holding it. New in 2018, they are excited to expand this popular campaign by bringing it to social media! This webpage features a social stream which will be populated with photos from social media shared using #HandprintsAcrossAmerica. To have your handprints featured on their website, all you need to do starting today is:
Download and print the Handprints Across America flyer.
Take a photo of yourself holding the flyer. Share it on Instagram or Twitter using #HandprintsAcrossAmerica and include your story - which can include why Rare Disease Day is important to you, why you’re getting involved, and what rare disease impacts you.
Your photo will be displayed in the HAA photo stream! Posts are updated every five minutes and pull from Twitter and Instagram if you use #HandprintsAcrossAmerica.
Rare Disease Day is on February 28, 2018. The main objective of Rare Disease Day and the Handprints Across America campaign is to raise awareness about rare diseases and their impact on peoples’ lives. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer.
